Adjustable Gastric Banding

Commonly known as Slimband® or Lap-Band®, adjustable gastric banding treatment can help you lose weight and get the figure you’ve always dreamed of. A silicone band around the top of the stomach in a 30-minute surgical procedure. The band, which can be adjusted over time, restricts the passage of food into the stomach, making you feel full faster.

During the procedure, your surgeon will make a small incision near the belly button. After temporarily expanding the abdomen with carbon dioxide, your surgeon will inspect the cavity using a small laparoscopic camera. Several more small incisions will be made for the surgeon to insert the instruments they will use. Then the surgeon will create a small, circular tunnel behind the stomach, insert the gastric band through the tunnel, and lock the band around the stomach.
