Bleaching and Whitening
Bleaching and whitening can restore your stained or discoloured teeth to gleaming white, turning back the damage caused by coffee, soda and wine, and even make you look like a non-smoker after years of smoking. Bleaching and whitening can be done in the dentist's office using specialized bleaching equipment, but it can also be done at home under a dentist's supervision.
In-office laser teeth whitening is one of the most popular options for teeth whitening, as it is very effective and produces results immediately. Your gums are prepared with a protective wax or gel, which isolates the teeth and prevents tissue damage. Your dentist will then apply a whitening gel to the teeth, and use a special laser light to facilitate gel penetration through the surface of the enamel.
At-home solutions are generally more affordable than laser teeth whitening, but results will be less dramatic. Tooth-whitening products such as toothpastes, gels, whitening strips and full kits are available both over-the-counter and by prescription from your dentist.
