Podiatry
Podiatric procedures and other treatments related to foot care are often considered elective and not covered by insurance. Specialized foot and ankle doctors, called podiatrists, treat a variety of conditions, including diabetic feet, athlete’s foot, ingrown or fungal nails, corns and calluses, plantar warts and melanomas or skin cancer. They may also prescribe custom orthotics, medical footwear, and ankle or foot braces.
