Weight Loss

Weight loss treatments and procedures, such as adjustable gastric banding, gastric bypass surgery, or intragastric balloon procedures, can help you improve your health and quality of life. Surgical weight loss procedures can be expensive, but when you consider the cost of diets, plus-sized clothing, prescription medications and time off work for weight-related health issues, the benefits of a long-term weight loss solution become more clear. With financing for your weight loss procedure through Credit Medical, you can get in shape and have the body you deserve.

Adjustable Gastric Banding

Commonly known as Slimband® or Lap-Band®, adjustable gastric banding treatment involves placing a silicone band around the top of the stomach in a 30-minute surgical procedure. The band, which can be adjusted over time, restricts the passage of food into the stomach, making patients feel full faster.

Gastric Bypass

Gastric bypass surgery involves making the stomach smaller by dividing it, creating a smaller upper portion, or “pouch”, and a larger bottom section. The surgeon then connects part of the small intestine to the pouch, which results in the patient feeling full from less food and the body absorbing fewer calories.

Gastric Sleeve

Similarly to gastric bypass surgery, gastric sleeve surgery, or “The Sleeve” involves making the stomach smaller by dividing it in two. Unlike gastric bypass surgery, however, gastric sleeve surgery removes a section of the stomach, and rejoins the remaining portions to make a banana-sized stomach, or “sleeve”, which results in the patient feeling fuller faster, which helps them lose weight.

Intragastric Balloon

Intragastric balloon placement involves placing a silicone balloon into the stomach through the mouth, then inflating it using saline. Much like other weight loss procedures, this helps limit how much a patient can eat and feel full faster. The balloon can remain in place for up to six months.

Weight Loss Programs

Structured plans aimed at reducing a person’s weight, weight loss programs typically use diet, food supplements, exercise or a combination of these elements to help patients meet their goals. Medically supervised weight loss programs can also help in better monitoring a patient’s success.
