Bleaching and Whitening

Bleaching and whitening can restore stained or discoloured teeth to gleaming white, turning back the damage caused by coffee, soda and wine, and even making people look like non-smokers after years of smoking. Generally, bleaching and whitening is done in the dentist's office using specialized bleaching equipment, but it can be done at home under a dentist's supervision.

Bonding

An enamel-like resin is affixed to the surface of the teeth, enabling the dentist to sculpt them the way the patient desires. Bonding can solve problems like discolouration, chipped or broken teeth or gaps in teeth, and can last up to 5 years, but may need to be redone.

Cosmetic Contouring

Also known as enamel shaping, cosmetic contouring involves the reshaping and straightening of teeth. It can be used to fix crowded teeth, elongated eye-teeth and other flaws, to create a more balanced look and improve the overall appearance of the patient’s smile.

Dental Surgery

Many types of dental surgery may need to be done to improve appearance, correct dental problems or alleviate pain. Patients without comprehensive dental insurance plans may find the cost is considerable and that financing is necessary.

Dentures and Dental Implants

Dentures and dental implants are a necessity for patients who have lost teeth through decay or accident, but are not covered by many insurance plans. Complete and partial dentures, as well as dental implants, restore both the look and function of missing teeth.

Laminating

Lamination can correct improperly aligned, broken, discoloured or badly shaped teeth. A thin, strong shell of ceramic is made, then chemically bonded onto the existing teeth. This can also be done to fix minor crowding and spacing problems.

Orthodontics

Orthodontic procedures typically involve metal braces and permanent or removable retainers, and help to straighten and realign teeth. Parents often choose to have orthodontics done for their children, but they can be done at any age. In many cases, private dental plans don't cover orthodontic work.

Veneers

Veneers are ultra-thin, tooth-coloured material (porcelain or composite resin) bonded to the patient's teeth. The dentist makes a model of the teeth, the 'shells' are manufactured in a dental lab, then installed to mask chipped, cracked or worn teeth, or close gaps between teeth.
