Chin Augmentation
Chin enhancement or augmentation is also known as genioplasty. This procedure defines and improves the balance and contours of the chin, neck and jawline, and can correct a “weak” or recessed chin.
In chin augmentation procedures, a small incision is made underneath the chin or inside the mouth. Through the incision, the surgeon makes a space or pocket where a biocompatible implant, usually silicone, which has been molded to fit around the patient’s chin bone is placed and the incision closed. The surgery itself typically takes less than an hour to perform.
